Lily's Introduction

 Lily's Introduction

Hello! My name is Lily, and I am currently working as an English Language Assistant at Nuestra Señora de la Almudena in Madrid, Spain. I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the North-Eastern United States. This is my first time living long-term outside of Pennsylvania, and I have absolutely loved Madrid so far! I have really appreciated the lively city, warmer weather, and the opportunities to travel around Spain and Europe.

At Ntra. Sra. de la Almudena, I work with children grades 1-6. It is so rewarding to help children of various ages and levels become more confident with their English. I help teach the children grammar and vocabulary, as well as Natural and Social Science. However, I particularly enjoy my casual, every day interactions with them. Through these conversations, I already have witnessed many children become more comfortable with conversational English these past couple months. I look forward to continue to watch the children improve and become more confident as English learners!

Introduction- Hanin 😎

 Hello,

My name is Hanin and I´m an English language assistant at Nuestra Señora de la Almudena in Madrid, Spain for the 2021-22 school year. I moved here from San Diego, California, where it´s summer year-round, so experiencing the seasons change again has been a wonderful surprise.

I´m no stranger to bilingual education, having moved around a lot during my own K-12 education, and I hope continuing to learn about Spanish culture past surface-level interactions  will allow me to understand students´needs during their language acquisition journey.

Seeing the primary school curriculum geared towards ages 6 to 12 has me amazed at what these young minds can do. Not only is English taught in English, but Natural and Social Sciences as well. I´m glad to be a part of their English immersion and am eager to see not only what I can offer, but what else I can learn in our day-to-day interactions.

Welcome to Camilo's Blog 😃

Hello!

My name is Camilo and I am a new English language assistant at Nuestra Señora de la Almudena in Madrid, Spain! I am from Queens, NY, USA and I moved to Madrid 7 weeks ago. During this time, I have been able to experience various aspects of the Spanish culture. The food is delicious, the city is charming, the weather is great, and the people are kind and friendly. I am very grateful and happy to be able to live in Madrid and enjoy the different qualities of the Spanish lifestyle. This includes working alongside great staff to assist in teaching the future of Spain, the Spanish youth! Assisting in the English classroom in several topics such as natural science, social science, etc., has allowed me to meet many intelligent, kind, and fantastic children! I really enjoy helping the children improve their English in the classes, which range from grades 1-5 (ages 6-11). The students also teach me and bring me lots of joy! I am very lucky to be in this awesome bilingual school with its great staff and students. In this blog, you can follow my journey as an English language assistant! 😁

Welcome to Alexa's Blog 😋

Hello!

My name is Alexa and I am the new English language assistant at Nuestra Señora de la Almudena in Madrid, Spain! I am from Austin, Texas, USA and I moved to Madrid 3 months ago. I have never lived outside of Texas, so moving across the world definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone and I haven't regretted it even for a second. Being immersed into the Spanish culture has given me a new perspective on life that I would've never experienced living back in the States. I have been given the opportunity to teach children in grades 1-5 (ages 6-11) and I have loved every moment of it. Before beginning to teach, I never knew how much joy these kiddos would bring me. Helping these children learn and improve their English has been rewarding to say the least. It is has truly been a pleasure to be working at a bilingual school and helping teach the children English, natural science, and social science. I feel so lucky to be working under an amazing staff with intelligent children. In this blog, I will be showing more about my role as a language assistant.
